Mark has had the opportunity of playing a substantial amount of music by Birtwistle in his performing career and previous involvements include both large scale pieces like Birtwistle's opera 'Gawain', to 'Linoi' - for piano and clarinet. In the 'Secret Theatres' festival, he has a key role in the performance of both 'Hoquetus Petrus' and 'Five Distances for Five Instruments'.
