Terry Braun has created the film imagery used in the new dance production NOOR.
NOOR (meaning 'Light' in Urdu and Arabic) is conceived by the award winning dancer and choreorapher Anurekha Ghosh and performed by international dancers and musicians playing live on stage. NOOR is the meeting of acrobatic martial arts, with contemporary Kathak coming to a point of stillness using Butoh.
In an age of global uncertaininty NOOR asks questions about the nature of 'enlightenment' exploring through an evening of extraordinary dance, our notions of light from a scientific, religious and mystical point of view. Anurekha Ghosh's expressive and original work combines movement, poetry, specially created film projections and an unique mix of live classical Indian and contemporary music.
