One of London's most imposing architectural sites, the main hall of The Natural History Museum, provides the setting for a unique dance event. Directed and choreographed by American Stephan Koplowitz who specialises in the creation of large-scale works in unusual urban surroundings, nearly 50 performers will transform the "cathedral of nature" into an extraordinary performance, exploring human evolution.

The audience stands in the main body of the hall as the movement streams along the stairs and galleries above. Sensational vistas of living bodies flying out from the monumental stonework, combined with the breathtaking sweep of the choreography, provide an exhilarating and unforgettable evening of dance.

You can explore a 360° view of the main entrance hall of the Natural History Museum.

You can also download a video interview (2Mb) with Stephan Kopliwitz describing the work.

Design is by Craig Givens, music composed by Jonathan Stone, with sound design and recording by Adam Peacock. Sarah-Jane Morris, Barnaby Stone and Jonathan Stone offer live vocal accompaniment to the specially commissioned sound score.
