Museums & Galleries Commission Website
1999 - 2000
We worked with the Museums & Galleries Commission on their website from January 1999 until March 2000, creating the site in stages to complement and develop the work of the MGC. On 31 March 2000 the MGC was replaced by Resource: The Council for Museums, Archives and Libraries. Braunarts continue to host the site until April 2001, but it is now no longer online.
The MGC had three central roles: to provide expert and impartial advice to the UK's 2,500 museums and galleries, to raise standards and to act as an advocate for museums and galleries throughout the United Kingdom. Through their work the MGC aims to safeguard museum collections and to enable people to enjoy visiting and using the nation's museums and galleries.
Our work with the MGC was concluded with three evenetsd: Terry was invited to speak on issues of technology and ownership at the Restitution and Repatriation Seminar held at the Natural History Museum in March 2000. Braunarts also produced media for the award ceremony of the 2000 and 2001 Conservation Awards, held at the British Library.
