Monaco Dance Forum
Terry Braun chairs a panel and presents a workshop about software that choreographers may be interested in at the Monaco Dance Forum this month.

Sophie
Terry Braun prepares for the production of the Sophie ballet opening at the Royal Opera House in London in January. Terry has worked closely with choreographer Cathy Marston to generate extraordinary films which are shown as an integral part of the performance.

[h]Interlands
24-26 October, 7.30pm
Greenwich Dance Agency, London
Shobana Jeyasingh’s new work [h]Interland explored ideas of location and distance, and was the first time that a live web-cast between India and the UK has been integrated into a dance performance.

One of Jeyasingh's dancers will join the performance from the terrace of the Conran designed Park Hotel in Bangalore, via real-time video link directed by one of the UK's leading interactive arts producers, Terry Braun.


SEPTEMBER 2002
Antarctic Waves

September 10th, Leicester
This extraordinary composing resource created by Braunarts and the British Antarctic Survey was launched to the public during the yearly science festival run by the British Association for the Advancement of Science. The launch, which included a speech by Science Minister Lord Sainsbury was complemented by a special performance from students at the Chethams School of Music.

Antarctic Waves has WON an Interactive Entertainment BAFTA award, in the Offline Learning category.

AUGUST 2002
[h]Interlands
Terry works with choreographer Shobana Jeyasingh to create a new mixed media dance work. Filming work in Bangalore will be included in the the live performances in Greenwich in November as part of Dance Umbrella.

UKIC
Braunarts begins work preparing the media presentation for the Conservation Awards 2002. This year the ceremony with Lloyd Grossman takes place at the British Library in November.

JULY 2002
Junction CDC
Braunarts has been commissioned to produce a high profile emblematic artwork with national significance for the JCDC in Cambridge. Braunarts will initially work in 2002 to commission an appropriate artist.

JUNE 2002
3D Music
After a successful demonstration of work-in-progress at the Royal Festival Hall, 3D Music will be completed in June ready for launch in October.

Antarctic Waves
Gabi Braun presents Antarctic Waves as work-in-progress at Cybersonica - a symposium event about innovation in music at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London.

MAY 2002
Shooting Live Artists - May 20th
Terry Braun chairs this BAFTA Interactive event looking at a new range of commissions for new media.
'Shooting Live Artists' is a partnership between BAFTA, the BBC, the Arts Council of England, The Studio of the North and b.tv.

Living Rooms

Braunarts and the Britten Sinfonia presented an evening of music and animation. The evening included the world premiere of Living Rooms, a new work by Creative Director Terry Braun, Composer John Woolrich and Digital Artists Roland Woolner and Matthew Bourne.

3D Music
3D Music is an innovative interactive computer generated performance environment in which you can explore specially created music in a navigable virtual space. Explore work in progress at the Royal Festival Hall.

FEBRUARY 2002
BAFTA
We are happy to announce that Terry Braun has been re-elected to the BAFTA Interactive Entertainment Committee for 2002-2003.

Antarctic Waves
Composer Duncan Chapman is creating interactive composition guides for inclusion in Antarctic Waves. If you are a teacher and are interested in becoming involved in testing the Antarctic Waves composition strategies, we would love to hear from you!

JANUARY 2002
Digital Dancing Research
Braunarts began work on a national research strategy for the Arts Council of England. The research focuses on the prevalence and types of digital dancing currently being practiced and presented in the UK, and will culminate in a presentation of the findings in mid 2002.
